Doug Verstuyft in the Nitro Chicken took the win at this event with a 4.97 at 228.426 mph over Steve Carter in Disorderly Conduct with a 5.84 at 187.500 mph.

Doug Verstuyft wins the Top Fuel championship at Phoenix,
Arizona with a 4.91 at 216 mph with the motor disintegrating at 3/4 track.
